At Times and Trends Academy (TTA), we do realize that there will be certain students who will be interested in starting out their own businesses. But, business is not as easy as it sounds. In business, every decision will have implications, and these implications may or may not be good. Therefore, students need to have sound business knowledge to fully understand all the business practices, operations, laws, etc.

Therefore, at Times and Trends Academy (TTA), we conduct various workshops for students. These workshops are conducted by eminent businessmen, industrialists, professional business coach and other personalities who have proved their mettle in the business.

Did You Know?

80% of the businesses fail within a year from commencement. Out of the 20% that remains, a major chunk would fail in the next 5 years. In total, 86% of the businesses fail within the first 5 years. Most of the experts want to start their own venture. However, there is a probability of failing. Along with creativity one needs good business acumen. Let us take a look at some factors that can help in achieving success.

“Three Mistakes That Most Entrepreneurs Generally Commit”

– Amit Agrawal, Founder and Chairman, Times and Trends Academy (TTA)

1. Profit first

You are in business to make a profit. However, when does one subtract the profit of the chunk is the question! This is a constant dilemma with experts. Let us cite an example. People who aspire to join the gym have one universal problem, “When should I hit the gym?” “Should it be in the morning, or should it be in the evening?”

Starting out early will be more fruitful for you. You are thinking of going to the gym with a purpose in your mind. Therefore, to achieve that purpose you need to put in efforts as well. One is highly energetic in the mornings. You can use that energy for your workouts. Obstacles are less, one of them being heavy traffic. One feels good after a good work out, and this feel-good factor is carried throughout the day.

Hitting the gym at night can be a nightmare! One is drained of energy at the end of the day; a good reason to keep you away from the gym. Another, if the gym is a few kilometres away driving through thick traffic can be maddening. Phew! Profit is analogous to the example above. Experts draw out the profits at the end of the year. It is calculated at the end of the year. Sometimes, it is done at the end of a quarter.

Now let me tell you something. Always take the profit out first, and then think of operating the business. By taking out the profits at the end of the year is like hitting the gym at night, all hell could break loose. Take out the chunk of the profit first. Do not postpone it for the last. When you take out the share at the beginning, you will make all the efforts to produce the profit, or you may have to wait a long time to see those profits.

2. Prototype

This is one of the areas that experts need to focus on. A question that I am asked repeatedly and frequently is what is the best advice that I can give an expert for success? I tell them, “Prototype is the key to success for an expert.”

All experts must have a prototype, and showcase originality. This will help experts to understand the need of the target audience.  Once you understand this, you can feel the pulse of your business; and that will be the moment to emerge as a victor and call it your Success.

So the key is to understand what your prospect wants, and then deliver it. I would suggest the following points that are necessary for growth.

  1. Prototype
  2. Deliver
  3. Feedback
  4. Repeat

You need to keep prototyping until you gauge the pulse of the audience.

3. EBM

Education based marketing is one way that these experts can grow their brand. This will help in maintaining a healthy growth. EBM is all about educating the prospect and then pitching the product. With EBM experts will be able to provide Value even before the transaction takes place. You bring out facts that help the prospect in making a decision and then pitch the product accordingly.

Pitching the product directly without informing the prospect, results in failure. The key is to inform, educate and then pitch. Customers will read the information, see that there is value addition, relate to the information and then choose to decide. If these three factors are taken care of, you as an expert are well on your way to success!

Times and Trends Academy (TTA) focuses on many such business practices that are already established in the industry, and are widely followed in the industry.
